Fake Your Specs
I bought the Alan Wake franchise over the Winter Sale, but it won't let me play either because it believes my crappy integrated card doesn't support MSAA. I know for a fact that this is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. It doesn't say it supports MSAA, but in games where the options don't check your specs (Sniper Elite V2) and where there's a console command to do it yourself (Source games) I can do MSAA without a problem, and I can see a difference. Is there a way I can make my computer think it supports MSAA 2x or 4x?
It's nothing special; a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 w/ Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor @ 3.06 GHz and Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset with 128 Dedicated VRAM, 822 MB total. 2GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. Anyway, I didn't post for an argument about whether or not I can do MSAA at all. I know for a fact that I can, as I've done it for several games already where there's a console or INI to change settings in (or if the settings menu doesn't try to find my hardware). The system thinks it can't, though, and since I know from Full Invasion 2 that it's possible to change what it thinks about how much RAM you have, I want to know if it's possible (and how) to fake a certain card or make it think a Q45/Q43 can do MSAA.

My PC still meets the specs, since it came with DX10, has 822MB of VRAM, 2GB RAM, and a 3GHz dual core Intel processor on a windows 7. 822MB of VRAM is shared system memory, not dedicated video memory. You should really consider investing it a graphic cards for gaming purposes. Overall the performance of the entire PC skyrockets, quality and performance goes up a lot! One of the best graphic cards on the market at the moment is the Nvidia GTX 970. However, that's if you want to play hardcore games on high/ultra settings.
You might or might not want to go as far as that, so even get a cheaper one or second hand might be ideal. GTX 780 will give you the same levels of performance as the GTX 970. System32 drivers pci.sys missing download. If you can find one of them second hand, for example. You might have to go with a lot less if it your system doesn't support/fit high-end graphic cards thou? Originally posted by:Hmm, Off the top of my head, nope.
But I have the game so I've checked. Update your Intel HD Graphics drivers to the latest version: Go to Documents Remedy AlanWake Right click on the file named 'Resolution' and click edit. And type width value='800' and height value='600', save the file. Then try to run the game?
At the lower resolutions forced (640x480 or 800x600) it might also disable AA and give your Intel HD Graphics a fighting chance to run it. Even in 480p, no good.
Well, thanks for the advice. It was worth a try.
